Charlie Sheen Arrested; Then Released From Jail
Charlie Sheen was arrested on domestic violence charges Friday morning but later on released from jail.
The Hollywood star was booked at 11:20 a.m. for second-degree assault, menacing and criminal mischief, according to a spokesperson for the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Department in Aspen, Colorado.
The 44-year-old “Two and a half Men” star posted an $8,500 bond Friday evening, and was released from jail at 7 p.m. The actor is due in court next on Feb. 8, 2010 at 10:30 a.m.
The authorities received a 911 call regarding a domestic violence situation at 320 West Hallam Street in Aspen. Officers investigated and booked Sheen for two felonies and one misdemeanor relating to domestic violence. The victim, thought to be his wife Brooke Mueller, was not transported to the hospital.
According to Entertainment website, TMZ, Sheen has hired Richard Cummins, a well-known Colorado attorney to represent him.
TMZ also reported that the actor told law enforcement Brooke was the aggressor and he was just trying to defend himself.
