Charlie Sheen Scores New TV Sitcom
Charlie Sheen is winning…again.
Looks like audiences have not seen the last of Charlie Sheen. Lionsgate announced on Monday that it is developing a new sitcom loosely based on the movie “Anger Management” with the former “Two and a Half Men” star as the lead. Sheen, who infamously figured in a word war with producers of “Two and a Half Men,” resulting in a bitter end to the top-rating sitcom, confirmed the project.
“I chose ‘Anger Management’ because, while it might be a big stretch for me to play a guy with serious anger management issues, I think it is a great concept,” Sheen said in a statement. “It also provides me with real ownership in the series, a certain amount of creative control and the chance to be back in business with one of my favorite movie producers of all time, Joe Roth.”
However, production on the project has yet to begin, and it is still unclear whether any of the major U.S. networks would be willing to gamble on Sheen after what happened with CBS and “Two and a Half Men.”
