Check out this limited-edition handbag designed by Da Vinci [VIDEO]
A luxury brand from Italy has released a limited-edition handbag based on a sketch drawn by Leonardo da Vinci in the late 15th century.
“Leonardo designed several fashion accessories, but this bag is pretty unique,” said art historian Alessandro Vessozi. “It blends beauty and functionality in a very harmonious way.”
The bag, created by Florence-based designers Gherardini, is named ‘La Pretiosa‘ after a drawing (of the same name) by da Vinci – which is thought to have been sketched in 1497 when the Renaissance master was painting the tapestries in the Last Supper.
Gherardini has produced only 99 handbags which are made of calfskin and brass – and will go on sale in March. The price has yet to be determined.
