“Chuck” Fans Set Rally to Save Show
“Chuck” fans are planning a series of rallies in a bid to convince NBC to renew the television show for another season or more. Chucktv.net, a fan site, is calling fans from across the United States to head to the cities of Chicago, Seattle, San Diego, and Philadelphia on May 3 as a show of force and to send a message to NBC that “Chuck” has a large fan base.
“Chuck” co-creator Josh Schwartz is all praises for the effort, saying that the show’s fans are “the most loyal, dedicated, imaginative and passionate fans any show could ever hope for.” He said that the so-called Chuck Flash Mob is yet another evidence of how creative “Chuck” fans can be. “This is yet another example of their awesomeness. We are, as always, grateful and inspired to deliver a show as good to them as they are to us.”
Last year, fans of the show made headlines by trooping to Subway branches to buy sandwiches, as a show of support for “Chuck” advertisers. The fate of “Chuck,” which is currently on its 3rd season, remains uncertain although indications point to a renewal. “Chuck” remains strong in the Monday ratings game when other NBC shows like “Heroes” are struggling.
