Clippers’ Camby Traded to Blazers

Marcus Camby is the latest big name to change address ahead of the National Basketball Association trade deadline. The lanky center was traded by the Los Angeles Clippers to the Portland Trail Blazers for guard Steve Blake and forward Travis Outlaw. Portland also paid cash as part of the deal.

The Blazers were keen on acquiring Camby after losing big men Greg Oden and Joel Przybilla to injuries the rest of the season. Camby, who was reportedly upset about being traded, is averaging just over 12 rebounds per game this season, second-best in the league.

The Clippers, on the other hand, have now found a suitable back up to Baron Davis, who has almost single-handedly been taking care of the point guard chores since Sebastian Telfair went down with a groin injury last month.

Outlaw is still recovering from a foot injury and it still not known when he will be able to suit up for the Clippers.
