2009 Golden Globe Winners

Heath Ledger has won a Golden Globe on Sunday for his performance as The Joker in Batman blockbuster “The Dark Knight.”
Up against Tom Cruise, Robert Downey Jr., Ralph Fiennes and Philip Seymour Hoffman, Ledger drew a standing ovation and quiet reverence from his peers.
Director Christopher Nolan accepted the Best Supporting Actor trophy on behalf of the Australian actor.
“All of us who worked with Heath on `The Dark Knight’ accept with an awful mixture of sadness but incredible pride,” Nolan said. “After Heath passed, you saw a hole ripped in the future of cinema.”
“He will be eternally missed. But he will never be forgotten.”
