Canada takes on El Salvador tonight for a place in the quarter-finals of the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

The Canadians opened the tournament last Friday with a 1-0 victory against Jamaica. El Salvador is also undefeated after Osael Romero scored twice, including the decisive goal in the 86th minute, to secure a 2-1 victory over tournament favorites Costa Rica. Although considered as the underdog, El Salvador has shown that they are capable of pulling off strong results in tournament.

The game starts at 9:00 p.m. EDT.

UPDATE: Ali Gerba scored for the second straight game and Canada strengthened its hold on Group A of the tournament with a 1-0 victory against El Salvador.
