Windows Vista SP2 Beta Release

Corporate Vice President of Windows Product Management Mike Nash posted a new update on his blog on Friday about Microsoft’s plans of releasing Windows Vista Service Pack 2.
The new service pack for Vista is scheduled for Beta testing and evaluation on Wednesday, October 29. Nash wrote. The SP2’s final release date for Windows Vista SP2 will be based on quality and they will need customer and partner feedback before setting the date of release.

Taylor Momsen is back!

Taylor Momsen will be back onset within days after winning her battle with a serious throat infection.
She was spotted getting back to work on the set of Gossip Girl Friday afternoon and she looked so adorable in this picture.
Gossip Girl’s a chick show and not something I’d normally watch, but sometimes I just watch it because of her.
The 15-year-old actress and model was admitted to a medical facility in Los Angeles and was released from hospital on Wednesday and is now recovering at home, according to People.com.

Suspect arrested in Hudson slayings

Chicago Police have arrested William Balfour, a suspect in the shooting deaths of Jennifer Hudson‘s mother and brother.
As detectives were interrogating the man suspected in the slayings, a search was under way for the Academy Award-winning actress‘ 7-year-old nephew Julian, who had been missing since the killings were discovered.
Balfour is also Julian’s step-father.
Darnelle Donerson and Jason Hudson were gunned down in a home on the South Side of Chicago on Friday in what can only be described as a nightmare come to life.

Richard Garriott Returns to Earth

The space tourist Richard Garriott, together with some Russian cosmonauts, safely returned to Earth from their trip to the International Space Station, Friday, October 24.

Garriott is creator of the Ultima online computer game series. He is also the son of Owen Garriott, a NASA astronaut, making him the first second-generation astronaut. He paid $30 million for his 10-day stay aboard the station. In all, he spent 12 days in space to become the station’s sixth paying visitor and the first American second-generation astronaut.

24 dead in Yemen floods

The Southeastern province of Hadramaut is now a disaster zone, when floods caused by heavy rains killed at least 24 people on Friday.
Hadramaut Governor Salem al-Khanbashi said the bodies of 18 people who had drowned had been recovered in various parts of the region.
A child was among six other people who perished when four provinces in eastern Yemen were flooded in torrential rains. Witnesses said they saw bodies floating in streams swelled by a downpour that lasted for some 30 hours.
