Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan – The spacecraft Soyuz blasted off early this Sunday from Khazakstan. The crew consisting of 6 people namely: Commander E. Michael Fincke, Flight Engineers Yury V. Lonchakov, Gregory E. Chamitoff, Sandra H. Magnus, Koichi Wakata and a spaceflight participant Richard Garriott.

Beastie Boys Plot Star-Studded Vote Shows

Higher resolution images for Google Earth via GeoEye-1

Several weeks after the successful launch, GeoEye-1 started collecting new images of the Earth for customers at a higher resolution. The said customers include companies from oil and gas, insurance, risk management, real estate and mining industries, the internet giant Google as well as local and foreign government and military.
