Austrian officials have charged a father who secretly kept his daughter as his sex slave in their house’s basement for 24 years and fathered her seven children, one of whom died during birth.
Josef Fritzl, 73, has admitted to investigators of imprisoning her daughter Elisabeth, now 42, since she was 18 and repeatedly raping her. Murder, rape, incest, false imprisonment and slavery were the charges filed against him.

Astronomers using the Hubble Space Telescope have taken what they say are the first-ever direct images of planets outside of our solar system, including a visible-light snapshot of a single-planet system and an infrared picture of a multiple-planet system.

Kid Rock brought Lil Wayne on stage as he performed his hit “All Summer Long.” But Lil Wayne didn’t rap: In fact, the best-selling rapper didn’t say a word. He just acted as part of the band, bringing out his guitar and strumming the strings silently alongside Kid Rock’s real guitarist.
You didn’t even see Wayne until somewhere around the song’s two-minute mark, when Kid came over and gave him five. Both performers wore Tennessee Titans jerseys.

Mitch Mitchell, the last surviving member of legendary 1960s band The Jimi Hendrix Experience, passed away early this morning. He was 62.
He was found in a hotel room in Oregon, officials said. A statement on the official Jimi Hendrix website run by the late guitarist’s estate said Mitchell died from natural causes.

President Omar al-Bashir, who faces indictment for alleged war crimes by the International Criminal Court (ICC), called a unilateral ceasefire in Darfur on Wednesday.
