On the streets of Lima, Peru, a new Hero discovers his powers…
After more than one million votes were cast, today NBC and Sprint announced the winning hero in the “Create Your Hero” campaign. The winning character will star in the new online live action micro-series, HEROES: DESTINY. The first of four episodes will premiere exclusively at NBC.com and on Sprint phones, one episode to be released every Monday at 9pm et/pt starting November 10.

Defeated US Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin has replied to reports that she will run for President in 2012 by saying God will “show her the way.”
The Alaska governor refused to say whether she was planning to run for the US presidency in four years, stating in an exclusive interview with the Fox News Channel that 2012 remained too far off.
“I can’t predict what’s going to happen a day from now, much less four years from now,” Ms Palin said.

There’s a bad news from DHL today. The international courier company is discontinuing its U.S. air and ground service, resulting in an additional 9,500 job cuts.
DHL plans to close its U.S. ground hubs and cut the number of stations from 412 to 103, resulting in the thousands of job losses.
The withdrawal from all ground and air domestic deliveries is a radical response by Deutsche Post to the widening losses in DHL’s US express business.

Two Spanish soldiers were killed and four others have been seriously injured on Sunday in a suicide attack in Afghanistan, authorities said.
The attack was in western Herat province’s Shindand district. The victims were hit by a van full with explosives which rammed into a joint Spanish-Afghan convoy returning from a training exercise.
Taliban rebels took responsibility for the attack in a statement posted on their website and said that one of their fighters, Mullah Habibullah, who was resident of the province, carried out the assault.
