When a man sounding extremely like Barack Obama called a Florida congresswoman Wednesday, she assumed it was a prank call.
Rep. Ilena Ros-Lehtinene, a Republican, got a call from the President-elect, didn’t believe it was him, and hung up on him. Twice!
Is she a little paranoid?
I guess bipartisanship is a hard pill to swallow for Ros-Lehtinen. But I’m just wondering… why didn’t she ask for a call back number to verify? I know she’s not that stupid.

Traditionalist Episcopalians, who disagree with their American and Canadian church counterparts on the issues of Bible interpretation and the ordination of gays, formed their own group on Wednesday.
They voted yesterday to form their own branch of Anglicanism in the United States and said they would seek new recognition in the worldwide church, the Washington Post reported.
In the past five years, a small but growing number of Episcopal parishes and dioceses have voted to depart from the church, but yesterday’s vote, signifies the largest split for Anglicans.

The Chinese government is still firm on its stand against Tibet’s autonomy.
Chinese officials on Thursday condemned the Dalai Lama’s position after his emissaries presented them in a “Memorandum for all Tibetans to enjoy genuine autonomy” during talks last month.
“By waving the banner of implementing ethnic regional autonomy in China, insisting on political demands for a so-called ‘greater Tibet’ and ‘high-level autonomy’, the Dalai Lama is totally violating the fundamental interests of the Tibetan people,” one of the commentaries said. “This has no future.”

Nominees for the 2009 Grammy Awards were announced in a different way this year– through a special concert that aired live Wednesday night from Los Angeles.
Lil’ Wayne led the pack of artists and musicians with eight nominations, including album of the year for Tha Carter III.
Other leading artists are Coldplay, who earned seven nominations, and Jay-Z, Ne-Yo and Kane West, who each scored six.
The concert event feature performances by Christina Aguilera, the Foo Fighters and John Mayer, among others.

Mark Ruffalo‘s younger brother Scott is in critical condition after being shot in the head at his Beverly Hills condominium early Monday morning, PEOPLE reports.
Scott Ruffalo, 39, has been in intensive care since he was found with a gunshot to the back of his head.
According to sources, the shooting occurred at approximately 1:40 a.m. at the building where Scott Ruffalo lived on North Palm Drive. Police confirmed the shooting, but would not say who was involved.
