Shoes of Iraqi reporter now cost a fortune

The incident with the shoes thrown at US President George W. Bush during his press conference with Iraqi Prime Minister in Baghdad continues to develop. The shoes of the 29-year-old correspondent of the Iraqi Al-Baghdadia TV channel, Muntadhar al-Zeidi, now cost a fortune.
It was first said that the technical director of the Iraqi football team Adnan Hamad offered $100,000 for the shoes. Hamad said that the journalist’s action expressed an attitude of all Iraqi people to George W. Bush – the man, who ruined Iraq and abused its people.

Police: Ottis Toole murdered Adam Walsh

The 1981 Adam Walsh kidnapping and murder case is now closed.
According to Florida police, Ottis Toole, a deceased drifter long suspected in the abduction and murder of Adam Walsh committed the crime that put missing children on the national agenda.
Toole twice confessed to the crime but twice recanted as well. The convicted serial killer died in prison in 1996.
“It is our determination and conclusion that Ottis Toole was the abductor and murderer of Adam Walsh,” police chief Chad Wagner said at an afternoon news conference announcing the end of the …

Padraig Harrington voted PGA Tour player of 2008

Padraig Harrington emerged as the PGA Tour player of the year, becoming the first European golfer to win the award since it began in 1990.
In an award selected by fellow competitors on the PGA Tour, Harrington was chosen ahead of Kenny Perry, Vijay Singh, Camilo Villegas and Tiger Woods.
Unlike other sports organizations, the PGA Tour does not reveal the vote totals.

Keanu Reeves’ sci-fi remake invades box-office

Sci-fi movie “The Day the Earth Stood Still” delivered a much needed victory for 20th Century Fox when it topped the weekend box office.
Keanu Reeves‘ sci-fi remake, which was largely mocked by critics, sold an estimated $31 million worth of tickets in the United States and Canada and around $70 million worldwide since opening on Friday.

The ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ Trailer is Awesome!

The high quality trailer to the new Wolverine movie has hit the web and it looks downright awesome!

See how Wolverine stopped a motorcycle with his claws, sliced open a truck and jumped mid explosion onto a helicopter.
The best part of the trailer for me is Gambit’s appearance.  I liked the way he looked, particularly the way they handled how his hands glow when he charges up his cards.

Bush pays farewell visit to Afghanistan

After his stop over to Iraq, President George W. Bush paid a surprised farewell visit to Afghanistan Monday morning amid increasing security incidents in the post-Taliban state.
Bush landed at Bagram Air Base near Kabul with almost all lights on his Air Force One plane turned off as part of a secrecy tactic to ensure his safety.

Iraqis hail shoe-throwing journalist

Thousands of Iraqis have demonstrated in Baghdad in support of Muntadhar al-Zaidi, the news reporter being held in custody after throwing his shoes at President George W. Bush at a news conference.
In Sadr City, supporters of radical Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr burned American flags to protest against Bush and called for the release of al-Zaidi.
“Bush, Bush, listen well: Two shoes on your head,” the protesters chanted in unison.
