Wimbledon 2009: Elena Dementieva vs. Serena Williams

World No. 2 Serena Williams will face Russian number-four seed Elena Dementieva today on Centre Court in the semifinals of the Wimbledon Championships in London.

The 27-year-old American holds a 5-4 career record over Dementieva and has won two Wimbledon championships, beating big sister Venus in the final in 2002 and 2003.

If Serena beats Dementieva later this afternoon, and Venus gets past top seed Dinara Safina, they would set up the fourth all-Williams title match at SW19 . The sisters have featured in seven of the last eight finals and there were few signs yesterday that the family monopoly is about to be broken.

The match starts at 13:00 London (08:00 ET).

UPDATE: Serena Williams recovered from match point down to beat Elena Dementieva 6-7, 7-5, 8-6 in a nail-biting semi-final at Wimbledon.
