DeWyze, Bowersox Sign Record Deals; Bowersox Splits with Boyfriend
The winner and runner-up of the just concluded season of American Idol have already started their post-Idol careers.
Billboard reports that Lee DeWyze, the ninth winner of the reality-competition show, has already signed with 19 Recordings Limited and RCA Records while runner-up Crystal Bowersox has now a deal with 19 Recordings Limited and Jive Records.
Daughtry and Adam Lambert are with RCA Records while past winners Jordin Sparks and Kris Allen are in Jive Records.
No official dates have been given for the release of their albums. If previous seasons are to be followed, chances are the dates will be sometime in the 4th quarter, around November. In iTunes Store, the date of October 26, 2010 has been declared as the release for the album of DeWyze. It will contain 12 tracks including his coronation song, Beautiful Day.
Meanwhile, Bowersox revealed that around the time of the final performances night, she and boyfriend Tony Kushian have split up.
“He went home. He wasn’t cool with the lifestyle,” she said in Ryan Seacrest’s radio show.”We’re both logical, grown adults. He’s a small town guy and it’s fine. But I’m a small town girl, but I want this. I want this more than anything — this career, this lifestyle. I didn’t think he was up for it. He didn’t think he was up for it.”
Kusian had told People.com during the hometown visit of Bowersox, “I don’t need the attention.”
