Initial estimates are rolling in for the battle for this weekend’s box office supremacy between two Hollywood A-listers.

Leonardo DiCaprio‘s Inception shook Angelina Jolie’s Salt. The former took in 43.5 million dollars according to studio estimates. It was a drop of 31% from last week when it took more than 60 million dollars. Despite the drop, it is enough to secure a second straight number one weekend spot. The Salt took 36.5 million dollars.

Despicable Me took third place at 24.1 million dollars. The top three is a rare occurrence as they are all original stories, meaning not adapted from any type of material, and they are not related to any previous film, meaning prequel or sequel.

DiCaprio and Jolie, both 35, and have been actors for more than half of their lives are both bankable stars and are both considered members of Hollywood’s A-list. However, Jolie already has an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for the film Girl, Interrupted. DiCaprio has three Oscar nominations.
