DMX Released from Prison

Rapper and actor DMX has been freed after seven months of incarceration for violating the terms of his probation, the manager of the “Romeo Must Die” star confirmed.

Manager Nakai Walker told Reuters that DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was released from a Yuma, Arizona, jail on Tuesday. “His first words to me were: ‘I’m home,'” Walker said. “I can tell you one thing, he’s not going to be going back there (to prison) again.”

Walker said the 40-year-old rapper’s immediate plans were to meet his wife and his two-month old daughter. DMX also plans to return to a studio in Arizona to finish an album whose recording had been interrupted by the artist’s legal troubles.

DMX was sent to prison in December after admitting that he drunk alcohol during one of his concerts, violating his probation. Even inside prison, DMX could not get away from trouble. According to Reuters, DMX’s release was delayed by a week after he failed to undergo a required drug test.
