“DWTS” Season 13 Eliminates First Pair
Metta World Peace, a.k.a, Ron Artest, and professional partner Peta Murgatroyd became the first pair to get the boot on “Dancing with the Stars” Season 13 on Tuesday after failing to impress the judges and voters with their cha-cha.
Peace, who assumed his new name days before the new DWTS season kicked off, and Murgatroyd received only 14 points for their cha-cha on Monday’s premiere. Peace and Murgatroyd, who was in her first DWTS season, were joined by the pairs of Rob Kardashian-Cheryl Burke and Nancy Grace-Tristan MacManus in the bottom three.
Artest, who was clearly out of sink on the DWTS dance floor, appeared to have expected his exit as he even rejoiced after his name was called as the eliminated contestant. “Who’s coming with me?” Artest yelled, before singing his praise of Murgatroyd. “Everybody give a round of applause to Peta – she was awesome!”
After the show, however, Artest wished that he would have been more serious. “I was having a great time and I was looking forward to learning a few dances, but I wish I would have put in a little more effort,” he said according to People.
