El Clasico: FC Barcelona 1-0 Real Madrid

We’re just a few minutes away from the biggest club game on the planet. This match is being billed in Spain as the War of the Stars as two of the most gifted players in the world of football collide: Lionel Messi against Cristiano Ronaldo.

The first meeting of the season takes place at Camp Nou and seats in cinemas screening the game across Spain were sold out days ago.

The Clasico always has fantastic players in it but this game is really exceptional. Aside from the two superstars, tonight’s match will feature Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Thierry Henry, Xavi and Andres Iniesta as they go against Karim Benzema, Kaka, Xabi Alonso and Iker Casillas.

The best footballers in the world are before your very own eyes!

Barca coach Pep Guardiola will not release his confirmed line-up until just before the game, but he has revealed that Argentine centre back Gabriel Milito has been included in his provisional squad list.

UPDATE: Ibrahimovic scored four minutes after coming on as a substitute to lead Barca to a 1-0 victory over Madrid in the biggest club game on the planet.

Trivia: Did you know that Barcelona’s all-time highest goalscorer was a Filipino? He was Paulino Alcantara from Iloilo City.

Alcantara made his debut for Barca at the age of 15 and remains the youngest player to play or score for the club. He was the first Asian footballer to play for a European team and while playing for the Catalan giants, he scored 357 goals in 357 matches. Wow!
