Ellen DeGeneres Launches Record Label, Signs YouTube Sensation

Watch out Justin Bieber, a new YouTube sensation is heading your way. Ellen DeGeneres is taking up the challenge of building up the career of 12-year-old Greyson Chance, whose version of Lady Gaga‘s “Paparazzi” has made the middle-schooler the latest YouTube hit. DeGeneres announced on Wednesday that she is launching a new record label, ElevenEleven, with Chance as her first recording artist.

“Greyson … inspired me to start a record label. We are making a record together,” DeGeneres said. Chance will appear again on Wednesday’s “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” episode after wowing the audience when he performed on the show on May 13. Chance received a call from Gaga herself after the May 13 performance.

DeGeneres’ announcement adds another powerful personality behind Chance fledgling career after Guy Oseary and Troy Carter agreed to co-manage the sixth grader. Oseary manages Madonna while Carter is Gaga’s current manager.

Chance became an international sensation after his performance of “Paparazzi” during a sixth-grade musical hit the Web. Chance’s solo piano performance of Gaga’s hit has so far earned more than 21 million views on YouTube.
