Evan Rachel Wood Comes Out as Bisexual
Evan Rachel Wood has come out of the closet in a recent interview with Esquire magazine, where the 23-year-old “Mildred Pierce” actress reveals that she is bisexual.
In the May 2011 issue of Esquire, Wood said that even in her younger years, she always had a penchant for anything androgynous. “I was always into very androgynous things. Guys, girls … I’m into androgyny in general,” she said. When asked if she dates women, Wood answered Esquire’s Julian Sancton with an emphatic “yes.” The “Thirteen” and “The Wrestler” star then elaborates about her dating style when it comes to women. “I’m more kind of like the guy when it comes to girls. I’m the dominant one,” she said. “I’m opening the doors, I’m buying dinner. Yeah, I’m romantic.”
A tested drama actress with an uncanny ability to cry—even in just one eye—Wood is also known for her connection to goth rocker Marilyn Manson, to whom the she was engaged before they broke up last August. Wood currently appears opposite Kate Winslet in the HBO miniseries “Mildred Pierce.” In the big screen, she was last seen in the Robert Redford historical drama “The Conspirator.”
