Former escort says she shot secret video inside Italian PM’s bedroom

A former escort who claims that she and other women were paid to spend the night at Silvio Berlusconi’s official Rome residence said yesterday that she had photos showing her with the Italian Prime Minister in his bedroom.

Patrizia D’Addario, 42, said that she had given prosecutors audio tapes but also had secretly recorded video footage of her encounters at Palazzo Grazioli, The Times reported.

The showgirl said the footage showed her standing in front of a mirror—inside a room where a framed photograph of Veronica Lario, Berlusconi’s estranged wife can be seen. She said she had made the recordings “so that nobody could deny I had been there.”

D’Addario claimed that she was offered €2,000 to spend a night with the PM.

In an interview with Italian newspaper Corriere de Sera she said: “I went to his house but it was late so I went to a hotel instead and so I only got half of the payment. €1,000 instead of €2,000.

It was not clear from her interview whether the 42-year-old had sex or was expected to have sex with Berlusconi but she added:  “I knew I had made an impression on him because he asked me what I did.”

In a statement, Berlusconi denounced Italian newspapers as filled with “garbage and lies”.

“I certainly will not let these acts of aggression get to me. I will continue to work as ever for the good of the country,” he said.

Photographs of nude and semi-nude guests at Berlusconi’s holiday home on the island of Sardinia were published earlier this month in a Spanish newspaper despite attempts by the Italian prime minister to have them banned.

Berlusconi is currently being investigated for misuse of public funds.
