‘Extreme Gamers’ Play at an Average of 48 Hours Per Week
A recent online survey conducted among 18,000 people by market research firm NPD Group showed that the playing time of PC, game console, and handheld device gamers in the United States is averaging at 13 hours per week.
The survey results came out despite forecasts by industry analysts that videogame sales will decrease this year.
Reports added that after survey participants were divided according to the time they spend on playing, the NPD learned that a minority at the top were considered “extreme gamers.”
According to NPD, the playing time of “extreme gamers” averaged at 48.5 hours per week, approximating to seven hours a day.
