FA Cup: Chelsea vs. Stoke City

Chelsea and Stoke City will be looking to bounce back from devastating defeats last weekend to book a spot in the FA Cup semi-finals when they meet at Stamford Bridge this afternoon.

Arsenal beat Stoke last Saturday in the Premier League to end the Potters’ 11-match unbeaten streak, while back to back losses to Inter Milan and Manchester City have dented the confidence of Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

The Blues are looking to repeat as champions and have won five overall. They are the only of the top 3 teams in the EPL left in the tournament and the favorites to win the competition.

The statistics are against Tony Pulis’ side in their first FA Cup quarter-final in 38 years. The West Londoners have won their last four successive meetings with Stoke, including a 2-1 victory this season at the Britannia Stadium.

However, Chelsea will be without Ashley Cole, and John Terry is not at the top of his game. The Potters’ record against English football’s top teams is nothing to be sneered at, as City failed to win over the Staffordshire club in neither of their three matches earlier in this year.

The match kicks-off at 16: 00 GMT (11:00 a.m. ET).

UPDATE: The Blues progressed easily into the FA Cup semi-finals after goals from Frank Lampard and John Terry.
