Facebook Founder Braces Upcoming Film Portrayal
A film which some say might be Oscar-worthy and which tries to depict the founding of the world’s current most popular social networking site will hit theaters Friday, October 1. Parts of the story are of course being disputed by the site’s founder.
The Social Network is a drama film that tells how Facebook was founded by Mark Zuckerberg, who is being portrayed by Jesse Eisenberg. However, Zuckerberg says that the movie is depicting him in a bad light. The film was based from the book The Accidental Billionaires by Ben Mezrich.
”I started Facebook to improve the world and make it a more transparent place,” he had previously declared. ”This movie portrays me as someone who built Facebook so I could meet girls.”
Zuckerberg is one of the world’s youngest billionaires. He is only 26. The site was launched last February 2004 with the intention of helping fellow students at Harvard University to become more connected to each other.
He insists until now that he will not go to watch the movie nor will he talk to author Mezrich.
