Facebook Gives Assurance That It Will Not Shut Down
“We didn’t get the memo about shutting down, so we’ll keep working away like always. We aren’t going anywhere; we’re just getting started.”
This is the statement given by popular social network site Facebook regarding rumors that it is shutting down on March 15 because CEO and founder Mark Zuckerberg “wants his old life back” and would like to “put an end to all the madness.”
Answering questions about the issue, Director of Corporate Communications Larry Yu emphasized, “The answer is no, so please help us put an end to this silliness.”
The rumors started from a site that is popular for spreading news that aliens will be attacking this year, for stories about developing the skill to levitate and be invisible and false reports about the US First Lady being pregnant.
Facebook is currently has a valuation of 50 billion dollars and currently have 500 million users, which is more than the population of any country in the world, save for China and India.
