Fantasia Barrino Confirms Pregnancy
Saying she is not going to hide her real condition to her fans, 2004 “American Idol” winner Fantasia Barrino confirmed on Sunday that she is, indeed, pregnant as rumored for months.
The 27-year-old singer made the confirmation to fans at a Jacksonville, Florida, concert. “God has given me this child and I don’t have to hide it from none of y’all,” she said. “You are the first person that I share this news with, and I share this with you because I can relate to you.” Earlier this year, Barrino’s handlers denied the rumors, which came about after people noticed that she had been gaining weight. Her manager, Brian Dickens, said in February that the weight gain was part of the singer’s preparation for an upcoming movie role as gospel legend Mahalia Jackson.
The new baby will be the second for Fantasia Barrino, who is also a mother to a 9-year-old daughter. The pregnancy comes after a turbulent 2010, which saw the talented R&B singer get embroiled in an adulterous relationship.
