Fergie Defends Christina Aguilera’s National Anthem Flub
The lone female member of popular singing group Black Eyed Peas defended the singer who uttered the wrong lyrics of the United States national anthem during the recent Super Bowl.
“You know what? It’s such a huge venue, your nerves take a hold of you,” said Fergie said at the radio show of sportscaster Dan Patrick. “I completely understand. She’s one of the best singers of our time. Nobody can take that away from you. … But you get nervous at these things. We’re human.”
The singer then stated that she had some troubles also during her group’s performance at halftime. She felt that some of her notes were somehow pitchy.
Hollywood Walk of Fame resident and Grammy Award winner Aguilera has already apologized for the incident. She said that she got so caught up in the moment and that she hopes that everyone could still feel the love she has for her country.
