Fight Hunger Bowl 2011: Nevada Wolf Pack vs. Boston College Eagles Live Stream (Free Online Video)
Fight Hunger Bowl Live Stream: The 2011 Fight Hunger Bowl (previously known as the Emerald Bowl) kicks off tonight, pitting the Boston College Eagles against the Nevada Wolf Pack at AT&T Park in San Francisco, California. This is the first year the bowl has been sponsored by Kraft, and the first time in its history that the game will not be played in December.
It has been 42 days since the Eagles last played a game, so we wonder whether they will appear to be out of condition at the start. However, Boston College enters on a five-game win streak and currently tops the Football Bowl Subdivision in run defense (in terms of yardage), led by LBs Luke Kuechly and Mark Herzlich.
The 15th ranked Wolf Pack, meanwhile, have the No. 3 rushing offense, averaging 305.9 yards per game. Quarterback Colin Kaepernick has 59 career rushing touchdowns. With one more, he will surpass Nebraska’s Eric Crouch for the most rushing touchdowns by a QB.
“We’re definitely going to throw the ball a little more,” said Kaepernick, who has joined Heisman Trophy winners Tim Tebow and Cam Newton as the only players in FBS history to throw and run for at least 20 touchdowns in a season. “We have our receivers ready. At the same time, we’re not going to let them take us out of our game plan. We’re still gong to run the ball.”
Next to the Horned Frogs, Nevada has been the most successful non-automatic-qualifying school this season. And if you’re a real football fan, you’d love to see the Wolfpack’s high-octane offense.
The game starts at 9:00 p.m. ET.
UPDATE: Colin Kaepernick passed for 192 yards, and Rishard Matthews scored two first-quarter touchdowns, as Nevada beat Boston College 20-13.
