For ‘Glee’ Role, Charice Gets Botox
An incoming new cast member for a successful hit television series went on to get Botox to prepare for her role on the show.
People.com reports that Charice, 18, recently revealed in a television show in her home country, the Philippines, that she underwent Botox as she set for her upcoming debut in the critically hit US show Glee.
The singer, full name Charice Pempengco, has been cast as a foreign exchange student in the show that will rival the lead character Rachel Berry, which is played by Primetime Emmy Award nominee Lea Michele.
In the television interview, local cosmetic surgeon and dermatologist Dr. Vicki Belo, said that the international singer also went through an anti-aging skin tightening procedure. It was claimed that this other procedure was made to relieve a jaw problem and to narrow Charice’s naturally round face.
Charice got her international break while performing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show at age 15. She went on to appear on the Oprah Winfrey Show.
She also earned the distinction of becoming the first Asian in history to land in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 album chart. The album Charice peaked at number 8. Her dance song Pyramid shot to number 1 spot for US Dance chart.
