Former CNN Anchor Denies Hiring Illegal Workers
A former CNN anchor who has been a critic for illegal aliens and the hiring of them is denying a report that he himself employed illegal immigrants. He then went on to interview the author of the report in his radio show.
Lou Dobbs, 65, has been working with CNN for almost 30 years before he resigned last November. He has been hosting a radio show since then.
A report from The Nation.com Thursday, October 7, said that Dobbs who has “became notorious for his angry rants against illegal aliens” and who has proposed that “illegal employers who hire illegal aliens should face felony charges” was found out in an investigation to have “relied for years on undocumented labor for the upkeep of his multimillion-dollar estates and the horses he keeps for his 22-year-old daughter, Hillary, a champion show jumper.”
Dobbs issued this statement in his radio show to deny the allegations, “I have never, nor has The Dobbs Group at any time, hired an illegal immigrant.”
CBS News reports that the former television host then interviewed the author of the article in question (Lou Dobbs, American Hypocrite), Isabel MacDonald. MacDonald, upon the repeated question of Dobbs of whether he or his company had ever hired illegal immigrants, said that he probably didn’t but his contractors did so.
MacDonald also said to Dobbs during the interview, “You have actually contradicted not one single claim that was made in that article. Your listeners deserve to know the truth.”
