Fox Addresses American Idol Issues

american-idolFox television finally addressed some of the issues hounding what could be the most popular show in the United States at its segment during the Television Critics Association summer press tour Monday, August 2.

First, no one has been signed in yet for judges that would be replacing Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres. The return of Nigel Lythgoe as executive producer was also cited to be pre-mature.

“The only thing I can tell you is that no one has signed a deal yet on either side of the camera to be on American Idol who wasn’t on the show last year,” said Peter Rice, Chairman of Fox Entertainment.

Rice also said that he tried to convince DeGeneres to stay.

The network however maintained that it is planning to have a full panel by the time the September callback auditions start.

With regards to the possible judges, this is what the chairman has to say, “Much of the information is accurate and some of it is wildly inaccurate.”
