Fox Waiting for O’Brien’s Decision
The statement came after the shakeup made by NBC, brining back Jay Leno from prime-time to late night bumping O’Brien’s show to past midnight.
The experiment of placing Leno in the 10 PM spot with a new show called The Jay Leno Show failed after five months in the air. The local affiliates of the network said that a drop of 30% in viewership occurred after the experiment took place.
O’Brien moved his family from New York to Los Angeles for his taking over of the 11:35 PM program The Tonight Show. He is reported to be very unhappy about the current situation.
The network is currently talking with the two hosts along with another of their late-night show host Jimmy Fallon.
Fox does not have a late night show and will have to consult with their own local affiliates before venturing out to the new business.
