MLS: Los Angeles Galaxy vs. New England Revolution

The New England Revolution will try to push their unbeaten streak to five matches when they host the Los Angeles Galaxy tonight at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. They are 7-0-2 in their past nine regular-season home meetings against L.A.

The Galaxy are currently on a five game unbeaten stretch that includes four victories. As a result, they sit in third place in the West, just one point behind of second-placed Seattle.

The Revs have more work to do if they want to reach the playoffs for the eighth consecutive year. They are in fifth in the Eastern Conference table, but they have several games in hand on every team they’re chasing.

New England head coach Steve Nicol will be suspended for tonight’s game after getting ejected in last Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Toronto. Assistant coach Paul Mariner will handle the coaching duties in Nicol’s absence.

The match kicks-off at 6:00 p.m. ET.

UPDATE: Landon Donovan and Jovan Kirovski netted goals as the Galaxy won their fifth in six games beating New England 2-1.
