George Michael Released from Jail
George Michael is a free man once again after he was released from jail on Monday, several days short of the four-week sentence imposed by a judge in his driving under the influence case.
Michael said he is looking to start a new life after getting through another hump in his colorful life. The former Wham! singer pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of drugs last month. He was sentenced on September 14 to four weeks in prison plus another four weeks under probation. As part of his sentence, Michael, 47, will not be allowed to drive for five years.
Michael, who is known for such hits as “Careless Whisper” and “Freedom,” proceeded to his north London home after leaving the Highpoint Prison in Suffolk. In a mini press conference held outside his London home, Michael said that he was looking forward to starting anew. “I’m coming out here on my own so that you realize I’m going to start again,” he said.
