‘Glee’ Premiers New Season, Showcases New Faces
The new season of the show who suddenly took the world by storm last year finally had its premiere Tuesday, September 21, with new faces in its cast.
Football coach Ken Tanaka is gone due to some nervous breakdown and was replaced by a mean looking lady Shannon Beastie (Dot Jones) a subject that has put main rival characters Will Schuester and Sue Sylvester in a rare alliance.
Quinn and Finn have a reversal of fortunes as Quinn is back as head cheerleader while Finn has been replaced as a quarterback by newcomer Sam Evans (Chord Overstreet) who was discovered as a potential member of Glee club in a manner reminiscent of a scene in season’s one premiere.
Meanwhile, Lea, so troubled by the possibility of a new rival, has tricked potential member Sunshine Corazon (Charice) into going to a crack house for auditions.
Asked about her new role, YouTube singing sensation Charice has this to say, “I love all the cast. They actually really gave me a warm welcome when I was on the set. I love my character. It’s really me. It’s very Charice, because I love wearing glasses kind of nerdy kind of cutie, fashionable clothes and all that. It’s really me. I love it.”
“It’s great working with all the cast,” said Overstreet. “I really think Jane Lynch is hilarious, she’s got the best timing, she’s one of the people I was really looking forward to working with, but I was also looking forward to working with those guys [the producers]. Each episode we get is funnier than the next. It’s all jokes and shenanigans.”
