Google Launches “Near Me Now” Search

Fresh from unveiling its first phone, Google now launched a new application for mobile phones called Near Me Now which will enable users to locate nearby

The application is available for iPhone (OS 3.0 or later)¬†and Android (OS 2.0.1 or later) handsets. Google mobile search users must first allow their mobile device to access location data. This is done in the settings link at the bottom of Google’s mobile search page. A “Near Me Now” button will appear below the search button.

Another feature included is the “Explore Right Here” drop down menu. It gives fast access to local businesses in the user’s area. It would work properly when the phone is given a correct and very accurate location data.

Reviews and menu are also viewable and accessible for businesses that appear at the search.

As of now, the new search technique is available in the United States only.
