Greek Journalist Shot Dead Outside His Home

Greek journalist, Sokratis Giolas, was shot dead Monday morning outside his apartment in Athens, Greece.

According to police reports, Golias opened his apartment door after someone knocked on his door telling him that his car was stolen. When the 37-year-old journalist stepped out of his apartment, he was shot and killed.

It was earlier reported that three men were seen involved in the shooting. Their getaway car, which was reported stolen last Saturday, was later found abandoned and set on fire.

Giolias was known in Greece as director of the national news radio station “Thema 9.89,” and was also made famous by his blog “Troktiko,” which usually reported on scandals.

He has also previously worked closely with Makis Triandafylopoulos, a Greek journalist famous for his investigative reporting.

The police are still determining the motive of the shooting, since no one has claimed the responsibility for the attack.
