A huge fire engulfed the business establishments and buildings in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire. According to reports, the fire started at the Surf Hotel, an unoccupied three-story oceanfront hotel. The fire was then spread easily to the adjacent buildings because of strong hurricane winds.

Hampton Fire Chief Chris Silver said the fire is believed to have started on the first floor of the Surf Hotel. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined but the blaze was declared under control at 4:30 a.m. and about a dozen of people were already evacuated.
