Harry Potter Lead to Star in a Broadway Musical Revival
Daniel Radcliffe is set to go back to Broadway again sometime spring of 2011 but this time in a revival of the musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
Radcliffe, who is currently filming the last installment of the Harry Potter film franchise and who previously starred in the West End and Broadway production of Equus (pictured), will play the role of J. Pierrepont Finch, a young mail room employee who found himself suddenly at the top of the corporate ladder.
How to Succeed became one of the only six musicals to win the Pulitzer Prize for Drama when it won in 1962. It starred Robert Morse and Warren Berlinger as Finch in New York and London respectively. It lasted for 1,417 productions. It won the Tony Award for Best Musical. The first revival occurred in 1995 starring Matthew Broderick as Finch and Megan Mullally. It had a total run of 548 productions.
Morse and Broderick both won the Tony Award for Best Actor by a Leading Actor in a Musical. Could Radcliffe continue the winning streak?
