Inter Milan Sign Rafael Benitez
Inter Milan have picked the man they want to fill the giant shoes left by former coach and now-Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho. The Italian giants announced on Tuesday that former Liverpool gaffer Rafael Benitez has been chosen as replacement for Mourinho, who left an Inter team who have just had one of their most fruitful seasons.
Inter president Massimo Moratti said that everything has been ironed out with only Benitez’s countersignature lacking. “We’ve got an agreement, we finalized the last details that in any case weren’t important,” Moratti said. The team are expected to announce tomorrow when Benitez will officially be introduced as Inter’s new manager.
Benitez will inherit a team that have recently scored a rare treble after the Nerazzurri captured the Serie A, Italian Cup, and Champions League. The 50-year-old Benitez parted ways with Liverpool after leading The Reds to a disappointing 7th place in the Premier League.
