International Friendly: Spain vs. Poland [UPDATED]

Spain vs Poland Live Stream

Spain vs. Poland Live Stream: Spain, the current European champions, will face Poland this afternoon at Estadio Nuevo Condomina in Murcia in their last friendly before heading to South Africa for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. La Furia Roja opens Group H against Switzerland on June 16.

Fernando Torres will be the center of attention in today’s clash in which the 26-year-old Liverpool striker is expected play. Torres missed both the narrow wins over Saudi Arabia and South Korea as he is still recovering from a knee operation he underwent in April.

“He will play if possible but if not, we have no hurry, coach Vicente Del Bosque told reporters. There are still days ahead to finish his recovery.”

The Spaniards are heavily favored to win the World Cup. They won the European Football Championship two years ago, and posted a record-tying streak of 35 undefeated matches between November 2006 and June 2009, including a record-setting 15-game win streak. Yes, La Furia Roja has never won the World Cup before. But with essentially the same squad that cruised to victory in EURO 2008, the Spaniards actually believe that they can bring home the trophy.

The match kicks-off at 22:00 CET (4:00 p.m. ET).

UPDATE: Torres made a scoring return from injury as Spain routed Poland 6-0 in its last World Cup warmup match.
