iPhone 4 Hits Stores; White Version Delayed
Apple stores across the United States started selling the latest upgrade of its smartphone gadget, the iPhone 4.
Analysts are now projecting that a million units will probably get sold on its first day of sales. Pre-order sales alone hit at 600,000 prompting the website to go down due to the massive access to the site.
Reports indicate that just like in any other Apple product launch, Apple loyalists are lining up by the thousands at stores long before they even open up.
Other countries where the iPhone 4 is now available are in Japan, Germany, France and the United Kingdom. It will be available to some 88 countries by September.
Meanwhile, customers opting for the white version of the unit will have to wait until next month because, as Apple have explained, it proved to be “more challenging to manufacture than expected.”
The culprit seems to be the colorant being used. White Macbook units previously had problems with discoloration.
