After almost seven years of dating, Janet Jackson and her record producer boyfriend, Jermaine Dupri, have called it quits, according to Us Weekly.

JD was noticeably not by Janet’s side at Michael Jackson’s public memorial earlier this month and sources say the two “have been moving in different directions.”

“You shouldn’t mix business with pleasure,” a friend of the former couple told the magazine. “Janet felt their lives were too crossed and they should have kept things separate.”

Janet is reportedly “devastated” by the breakup, but is keeping herself busy by caring for Michael’s children.
