January Jones Denies Hit-and-Run Allegations
“Mad Men” star January Jones has dismissed allegations that she was involved in a hit-and-run incident on Thursday, but admitted that she hit several parked cars while trying to evade pursuing paparazzi. A rep for Jones also denied that alcohol was involved in the crash, which occurred as the sitcom star was returning home after watching Game 4 of the NBA Finals at a West Hollywood hotel.
Jones told police that she briefly left her Range Rover and went home to call 911, as well as to avoid the pursuing photographers. The incident occurred just a few blocks from Jones’ home. Los Angeles police said they are not looking at the incident as a hit-and-run case and they found no evidence suggesting that Jones was under the influence at the time.
However, in a report, TMZ quoted Food Network star Bobby Flay as saying that Jones called him to ask for help while she was still at the scene, raising the question of why the actress did not use her cell phone to call 911.
