Japanese student shows off thought-controlled robot

thought-controlled-robot

Created by Taku Ichikawa, a student from the University of Electro-Communications in Tokyo, this gladiator robot actually responds to the thoughts of its master.

The machine is able to walk forward, rotate right and use its arm for stabbing attacks. The set of electrodes attached to Ichikawa’s forehead measure his neural activity, making it possible to control the bipedal bot just by thinking.

Unfortunately I haven’t found any video that would support this claim but The Mainichi Daily News is a reputable newspaper so I guess I’ll take their word for it.
