Jens Voigt suffered serious injuries in Tour de France crash
Germany’s Jens Voigt is out of the race after having a dangerous crash in the 16th stage of the Tour de France on Tuesday.
The 37-year-old temporarily lost consciousness following a heavy fall early on the descent from the Col du Petit-Saint-Bernard and was flown to hospital in Grenoble after being revived at the scene.
According to his Saxo Bank team, Voigt suffered serious facial and elbow injuries. He was immediately ruled out of the Tour and remained in hospital last night for further observation.
