Jeremy Renner Receives “Bourne Legacy” Offer
Jeremy Renner is set to inherit the “Bourne” franchise from Matt Damon.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Academy Award-nominated actor has been offered the lead role in the upcoming “The Bourne Legacy,” which is supposed to be spin-off of the “Bourne” film trilogy that starred Matt Damon. However, the possibility of Renner taking on the role, which will no longer be that of Jason Bourne, hinges on the actor’s schedule.
Renner is currently working on “Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters,” which is slated for a March 2012 release. Renner is also signed on to appear in “Mission Impossible—Ghost Protocol” and “The Avengers,” where “The Hurt Locker” star will play the superhero Hawkeye. The 40-year-old actor is also set to make a cameo in “Thor,” which hits theaters in North America on May 6.
Renner, who received Oscar nominations for his roles in “Hurt Locker” and “The Town,” is reportedly also interested to star opposite Eric Bana in the thriller “Virtue Fall.”
