I've been a star trek fan since i can remember. I watched TOS all the way til Enterprise. And guess what? I think that ship up in that picture Rocks! As far as roddenberry is concerned, he depicted a future in his vision, one of change. I dont think many people got the message. THIS is change. Anyhow, relax people, about the canon/ not canon nonsense. cuz thats what it is. the show is FICTION anyhow. how real can you get when it comes to something fake anyhow? Just a thought. Love the new enterprise. thank you.

Obviously, not much thought was given to this new ship design. Looks like they took the saucer from the TMP Enterprise, and added parts made in the “Spore” creature design video game! They had the ONE chance to design a great Enterprise, and blew it in monumental fashion. That's what happens when people who are not fans decide to make a movie, in an attempt to appeal to a “broader” audience. I am so disappointed, because the Enterprise IS the main character in Star Trek and should have been treated with more respect. Next time, have Digital Domain design the ship, not the Star Wars people.

It's god awful. Dunno what JJ was thinking. It's TMP saucer with the most ugly redo of the engineering section possible. Hire a new artist, please, this fails miserably.

When I first saw this design, I didn't know what to think. After about 10 minutes of staring at it, I decided I didn't really like it. But I have since set this image as my desktop picture, and after a week, I think it kicks ass. People who are going so far as to speculate whether this redesign affects future starship designs…….holy fuck. You do realize that none of this is real, eh? None of my buddies like Star Trek, in fact, they never pass an opportunity to cut in about my love for this fantastic envisioning of humanity's future, and after showing them the new trailer, even these guys are pumped to see the new flick. So basically, if this doesn't live up to your standards, or has you really stressed out and upset…maybe it's time to re-evaluate your life? but maybe that's just me…

Looks like a kid's toy.
I wouldn't be suprised if that was the intention.
After all these movies are all about cross-merchandising (action figures ,video games etc.),With a 150 million dollar budget they've gotta make the money back somewhere besides ticket sales if box office bombs.

Well… at first glance I didn't like it… at first glance. Then I saw another profile shot and it's a beauty. I love the design. I am a hard core Trekkie and Trekker. I basically had the same reaction when I first saw the Ent-D and the E and NX-01 and the B. It's trying to imagine what it will be like because your mind keeps going back to the classic. I thought the same for Enterprise. I think eventually people will adopt this new image and remember that for the Franchise series of movies to move on it's got to evoke new change and images but still pay homage to the original ship. This one does and lets give it a chance. I wouldn't expect Kirk's ship to be the same looking when he was just entering the Academy. It looks great!

I personally don't care for the design. Yes, it follows the basic design the original. But it's hard to believe that the original Enterprise and all of it's class underwent a major redesign and refit in a short time frame. I really liked the look of the Defiant when it was in 'A Mirror Darkly' in the last season of Enterprise.

Simple fact is that they are changing the corner stone of the Star Trek franchise. Star Trek has taken a beating the last few years. This will only make it worst. The original Enterprise is an icon.

This movie will certainly take us out of our comfort zone. Why did we buy 5 different versions of the same trilogy (Star Wars original, remix, widescreen remix, enhanced, enhanced DVD, probably blu ray when it comes out)? Because we expected it to be as good when we first watched it back in 1977 (if you are that old). If we pay $9.00 to see this ST XI next year, wouldn't we fill cheated if we were to see on screen TOS Enterprise from 1967? My point is of course we hate it! But we are it's biggest fans who will end up buying this movie when it comes out in hallo deck version in 2036. Live long Star Trek!
