Joan Gamper Trophy: FC Barcelona vs. Manchester City

Manchester City, the world’s wealthiest football club, will try to achieve what no British side has ever done – win the Trofeo Joan Gamper.

Manchester City boss Mark Hughes is expected to field a strong starting lineup against Barcelona. The meeting between the two clubs will be a memorable one for Kolo Toure, because he will be up against his brother, Yaya.

Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been declared fit to play against the Citizens tonight. He will pair with Lionel Messi, who recovered from a muscle strain in his left thigh.

The Joan Gamper Trophy is named in honor of Joan Gamper, a founding member, player, and later president of FC Barcelona. It is one of several summer trophies played for in Spain.

Game time is 10:00 p.m. CET (4:00 p.m. ET).

UPDATE: Bulgarian winger Martin Petrov scored the only goal of the match as Manchester City beat Barca 1-0 at Camp Nou.
